Frequently asked questions
Is WebP supported everywhere?
All current major browsers can display WebP. Some older desktop programs and some upload forms still only accept JPG or PNG, which is why this tool converts in both directions.
Does WebP keep transparency?
Yes. Converting a transparent PNG to WebP keeps the transparency. Converting to JPG fills it with white.
Why can't my browser create WebP?
Some browsers can display WebP but cannot create it. Try current Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
