How to use the Wi-Fi QR Code Generator
- 1Enter the network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capital letters.
- 2Choose the security type and enter the password.
- 3Test with your phone, then download and print.
Supported formats and limits
- Uses the standard WIFI: QR format supported by Android and iPhone (iOS 11+) camera apps.
- Download as PNG (256 to 2048 pixels) or SVG (scales to any size for printing).
- Custom foreground and background colours. Dark-on-light codes scan most reliably.
- Optional centre logo (PNG or JPG). Adding a logo switches to the highest error correction level automatically.
- Every code is read back by a QR decoder before download is allowed.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to print my Wi-Fi password as a QR code?
Anyone who scans the code can join your network, just as if you told them the password. Only display it where you would be comfortable sharing the password. Consider a separate guest network.
My phone sees the code but won't connect.
Check the network name and password are exactly right (they are case-sensitive) and that the security type matches your router. WPA covers WPA, WPA2 and WPA3.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The code is created in your browser and the password is never transmitted.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes: the information is stored inside the pattern itself, so they keep working for as long as the code is printed or displayed. There is no tracking and no redirect service.
Why is the download button disabled?
The tool checks that the code can actually be scanned. If the colours have too little contrast, are inverted (light code on dark background), or the logo is too large, the check fails and you will see what to change.
How big should I print a QR code?
As a rule of thumb, make the code at least 2 × 2 cm, and larger if people will scan it from further away (about one tenth of the scanning distance). Use the SVG download for print so it stays sharp at any size.
